Kubbe is a boy who lives in the forest and goes on daily adventures collecting all kinds of things he finds. Later, he sorts, labels and keeps his collection in green boxes. Eventually, he follows his grandmother's advice and sets up a museum in his house exhibiting everything he has collected.
Based on the picture book Kubbe lager museum (Kubbe makes a museum) by Norwegian illustrator Åshild Kanstad Johnsen.

Where it came from
Kubbe, also known as Woody, originated as a beloved children's book character created by Norwegian author and illustrator Åshild Kanstad Johnsen. The 2013 short animation was produced by the studio Echoes to translate Johnsen's distinct, minimalist aesthetic and gentle narrative style into a moving format, capturing the protagonist’s quiet life in the forest as he collects discarded objects.
The adaptation was designed to maintain the integrity of the original picture books, which are celebrated for their focus on themes of curiosity and the beauty of everyday finds. By employing a clean, hand-drawn look that mirrors the book's illustrations, the production team successfully preserved the meditative pace and warmth that defined the source material upon its initial literary release.
