Where it came from
Ma Shen is an original net animation produced by the Chinese studio Thundray, released as a showcase of the studio's technical capabilities in 3D character modeling and high-octane action choreography. The project was conceived as a stylistic exercise, focusing on the fluidity of movement and the seamless integration of traditional martial arts aesthetics within a hyper-stylized, science-fiction narrative framework.
The production is noted for its visual fidelity, reflecting the studio's broader mission to push the boundaries of Chinese-produced CGI animation. Critics and animation enthusiasts received the ONA as a testament to the studio's attention to anatomical motion and environmental detail, positioning Thundray as a significant technical player in the evolving landscape of digital storytelling in China.
