Taichi Keaton is a man of many talents: father, historian, frequent traveler, negotiator, archaeologist, former survival instructor, and all while working as an insurance investigator for Lloyd's of London. While his methods may seem a bit unorthodox, he gets the job done when needed, but not without a little something to learn or teach in the process. Through all of his adventures, some people call him a quack. Those who know him well call him a master of life...

Where it came from
The Master Keaton OVA series was released in 2000 as a continuation of the popular 1998 television anime adaptation of the manga by Naoki Urasawa, Hokusei Katsushika, and Takashi Nagasaki. Produced by Studio Madhouse, these episodes were developed to cover additional stories from the original source material that were not included in the primary run, maintaining the series' signature blend of archaeology, intelligence work, and human-centric drama.
The production remained under the direction of Masayuki Kojima, who sought to preserve the mature, understated aesthetic established in the television series. The design work focused on capturing the globetrotting nature of Taichi Keaton’s life as an insurance investigator and survival expert. Upon release, the OVA was well-received by fans of the manga who appreciated the faithful character designs and the continuation of the sophisticated, episodic storytelling that defined the franchise.
