Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 2021, this animated short was produced by Studio Chizu, the production house founded by director Mamoru Hosoda. The piece was commissioned by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance as part of their 'MY Link Coordinator' promotional campaign, utilizing the studio's distinct visual language to humanize the company's insurance advisory services. The narrative focuses on the subtle, heartfelt connections between a coordinator and her clients as the seasons change, emphasizing themes of care and longevity.

The animation reflects the hallmark aesthetic of Studio Chizu, prioritizing soft, evocative character designs and atmospheric lighting to build emotional resonance within a brief runtime. By collaborating with a studio known for films like 'Mirai' and 'Belle,' the campaign aimed to elevate corporate advertising into a piece of digital art. It was received favorably for its high production quality and its gentle, narrative-driven approach, which aligned with the studio's reputation for sentimental, character-focused storytelling.
