Where it came from
Meikoku Gakuen: Jutai-hen was released in 2017 as an original video animation produced by the studio Bunny Walker. It belongs to a niche sector of the adult animation market, following the conventions of high-concept visual storytelling often associated with independent studio productions in Japan. The title is part of a series centered on the fictional Meikoku Gakuen, a setting that serves as a canvas for the studio's stylistic focus on character-driven narratives within the genre.
The production reflects the mid-2010s trend of small-scale animation houses focusing on specialized, serialized content for a dedicated demographic. Bunny Walker utilized a compact production cycle typical of OVA releases, emphasizing character design consistency and expressive, stylized animation techniques. Like many works in this specific category, the release was designed for direct-to-consumer digital and physical distribution, finding its audience through specialized platforms rather than traditional broadcast media.
