Ninja Girl & Samurai Master 3rd

Ninja Girl & Samurai Master 3rd is the third installment in the animated adaptation of Goosie Shigeo's historical comedy manga, Nobunaga no Shinobi. Produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Akitaro Daichi, the series premiered in 2018 as part of a multi-season project that reimagines the life of the warlord Oda Nobunaga through the eyes of his loyal and bumbling ninja retainer, Chidori. The production retains the distinctive ultra-short episode format that allows the studio to maintain a whimsical, fast-paced comedic rhythm while exploring the complexities of the Sengoku period.

The aesthetic of this series reflects the studio's commitment to lighthearted historical parody, utilizing a chibi-inspired art style to juxtapose the gravity of political unification with slapstick humor. The design choices, overseen by character designer Yamanaka Junko, were intended to bridge the gap between traditional history enthusiasts and contemporary manga fans. Upon its release, the third season was noted for successfully expanding the show's cast of historical figures while refining the series' blend of educational tidbits and situational comedy, solidifying its place as a consistent entry in the modern landscape of gag-based anime.
