Where it came from
On the Stage is a digital interactive experience developed by the studio mimoid, released as part of their broader exploration of generative storytelling and immersive virtual spaces. The project was conceived during a period of experimentation within the independent game development scene, where creators were increasingly moving away from traditional win-loss mechanics to focus on atmospheric world-building and player-driven narratives.
The aesthetic design of the project emphasizes minimalist geometry and deliberate lighting, drawing inspiration from modernist stage design and avant-garde theater. By stripping away conventional interface elements, the developers aimed to foreground the relationship between the viewer and the virtual environment, positioning the user as both an observer and a participant in an unfolding, abstract performance.
