The Straw Hat crew obtain an advertisement for a recreational island on the Grand Line run by the Baron Omatsuri. Luffy decides to take this opportunity to kick back and relax. Unfortunately, when they arrive at the island, they are asked to compete in contests through unity for access to relaxation. However, there seems to be a mysterious air on the island, as the Straw Hat Pirates begin to fight amongst themselves, while Robin, Chopper, and Luffy individually search for the secret behind Baron Omatsuri's island.

Where it came from
Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island was released in 2005 as the sixth feature film in the One Piece franchise. Directed by Mamoru Hosoda, the film marked a significant departure from the series' established aesthetic. Toei Animation afforded Hosoda considerable creative freedom, resulting in a project that diverged sharply from the bright, adventure-oriented tone of the television series in favor of a darker, psychological exploration of themes such as grief, isolation, and the pressures of leadership.
The film is notable for its distinct art style, which utilizes thicker, sketchier linework and a more muted color palette than typical franchise entries. Hosoda sought to strip away the artifice of the pirate adventure genre to expose the underlying tension within the Straw Hat crew. While initial audiences accustomed to the show's standard formula were divided by the film's somber tone and unsettling imagery, it has since been reassessed by critics as a unique auteur work that stands apart from the broader cinematic history of the series.
