The action takes place in Ooedo Japan, when geishas and public houses appeared. Back then, girls raised in poor provincial families had little chances to get married successfully. The only opportunity to improve financial and social status for them was to move to Ooedo, the city of wealthy clans, and to become a servant or a geisha - and, perhaps, a lover of a rich feudal. Young and poor Ushizu has chosen this very path.
Alongside, this hentai is a sort of Japanese Kama Sutra. The end of each part contains the description of sexual positions.

Where it came from
Ooedo Forty Eight was released in 2007 as a short-form original video animation, serving as a distinct stylistic project within the Japanese animation landscape of the mid-2000s. The production was intended to showcase a unique aesthetic, blending traditional Japanese motifs with an experimental, stylized approach to character design and animation timing. It emerged during a period when smaller, independent studios were frequently exploring short-run digital formats to push the boundaries of visual expression.
The animation was conceived as a creative venture that prioritized kinetic visual flair and unconventional narrative pacing over standard episodic storytelling. By emphasizing a highly specific color palette and exaggerated character movements, the design team aimed to evoke a sense of theatrical artifice. Upon its release, it was recognized primarily by enthusiasts of avant-garde animation for its commitment to a singular, cohesive look that departed from the commercial conventions typical of the era's mainstream productions.
