Where it came from
Peace Hame! was released in 2012 by Studio 9 Maiami as an original video animation. The project emerged from a niche segment of the independent animation scene in Japan, focusing on experimental aesthetics and short-form storytelling that prioritized stylized visual characterization over traditional narrative structures.
The animation is characterized by a vibrant, minimalist design language common to early 2010s digital art movements in Japan. The studio aimed to create a surreal, atmospheric experience that relied on rhythmic editing and saturated palettes, and while it remains a deep-cut obscurity among international anime fans, it serves as a representative artifact of the era's small-scale, artist-led digital shorts.
