PES (Peace Eco Smile) _Drive your Heart

Released in 2012, PES (Peace Eco Smile) is a series of original net animations produced by Studio 4°C for Toyota. The project was conceived as part of Toyota's broader 'Drive Your Heart' corporate branding campaign, which aimed to revitalize the automaker's image through artistic collaboration. The shorts feature a whimsical, high-energy aesthetic that aligns with the studio’s signature experimental style, balancing environmental themes with futuristic, character-driven narratives.

The character design and visual direction were spearheaded by veteran creators at Studio 4°C, known for their work on films like Mind Game and Tekkonkinkreet. The project sought to engage a younger, digitally native audience by moving away from traditional commercials in favor of an episodic, story-led format. Upon its release, the animation was noted for its fluid movement and vivid color palette, effectively serving as a distinctive example of corporate-sponsored creative content that maintains the artistic integrity of the studio.
