Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Rescue Across Time

Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Rescue Across Time is a 2012 feature-length entry in the long-running Chinese animated franchise. Produced by Creative Power Entertaining, the film was conceived as part of the series' transition from episodic television to high-budget cinematic releases, aiming to capitalize on the massive popularity the characters had achieved across mainland China since their 2005 debut. The narrative centers on a complex time-travel plot designed to bring together multiple generations of the show's cast, reflecting the studio's desire to deepen the emotional stakes for a maturing audience.

The character designs maintain the distinct, minimalist aesthetic established by creators Su Yong and his team, characterized by bold lines and highly legible color palettes intended for younger viewers. While the film was developed under the constraints of a rigid production schedule typical of the franchise's rapid output, it was received as a technically ambitious attempt to expand the lore of the Grasslands. Critics and fans noted it as a highlight of the series for its focus on character legacy and its relatively sophisticated approach to the recurring conflict between the wolves and the goats.
