Pokémon: Paldean Winds

Pokémon: Paldean Winds is an original net animation series produced by Wit Studio, released in 2023 to coincide with the expansion of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games. The series was designed to showcase the vibrant Paldea region, focusing on the journey of three student treasure hunters as they navigate school life and the challenges of the Terastal phenomenon. It represents a stylistic departure from the long-running television series, opting for a cinematic, high-fidelity aesthetic that reflects the studio's reputation for fluid movement and emotional character design.

Directed by Ryohei Takeshita, the series was created to provide a localized, character-driven perspective on the Paldea region that serves as a companion to the core game narrative. The visual direction emphasizes the scale of the landscape and the nuanced interactions between trainers and their partners, receiving positive reception for its artistic quality and its ability to condense the expansive game world into a cohesive, atmospheric short-form storytelling experience.
