Where it came from
The Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire animated trailer was released in 2014 by OLM, Inc. to build anticipation for the Nintendo 3DS remakes of the classic Game Boy Advance titles. Serving as a high-production promotional piece, the short was designed to showcase the reimagined Hoenn region, highlighting key characters like Brendan, May, and the legendary Pokémon Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre through modern, cinematic animation techniques.
The animation studio OLM, which has long served as the primary production house for the Pokémon anime franchise, utilized this trailer to bridge the gap between the games' traditional sprite-based origins and the updated 3D graphics of the 3DS era. By emphasizing dynamic action sequences and a polished aesthetic, the trailer was well-received by fans as a nostalgic yet vibrant celebration of the series' history, successfully signaling a fresh start for the beloved titles.
