It is the year of 2014, Shibuya is independent from Japan, and it becomes an independent nation. It is a town of chaos where only young people are living. The life necessity, such as electricity, water, and food are transported by the pipelines out from the Shibuya. The pipelines are running like cobweb in the sky, the young people in Shibuya looked like bugs trapped in the cobweb.
In this city, there are people called "Prayers". They earn money by the battle of music. They turn music into electric signals and inject them into brains, and destroy opponents' mind and bodies each others.

Where it came from
Prayers was produced in 2005 by the studio KSS as a two-part original video animation series. Adapted from a manga by writer and artist Akihiro Kimura, the project emerged during a period when KSS was actively adapting niche seinen and horror-themed manga titles for the home video market. The story follows a protagonist who gains the ability to see the memories of others, a premise that allowed the creators to experiment with surreal, often dark visual sequences centered on trauma and supernatural mystery.
The animation style is characterized by the modest production values typical of mid-2000s mid-tier OVA releases, prioritizing atmospheric tension over fluid movement. While the series did not receive widespread critical acclaim, it remains a notable example of the era's tendency to produce experimental, standalone OVAs that bridged the gap between seinen manga readers and anime consumers. It is regarded by collectors primarily as a curio of 2000s independent animation development.
