Where it came from
Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 was produced by CygamesPictures and released in 2022 as the direct continuation of the studio's adaptation of the popular mobile role-playing game developed by Cygames. The series follows the protagonist Yuuki and his companions as they navigate the fantasy world of Astraea, building upon the foundations established by the game's narrative and the first season's focus on high-quality character animation and lighthearted adventure.
The visual direction for the second season sought to maintain the high production values associated with Cygames' internal studio, emphasizing expressive character designs and fluid action sequences. Directed by Yasuo Iwamoto, the series was well-received by fans of the franchise for its blend of comedy and emotional storytelling, succeeding in transitioning the interactive elements of the source material into a cohesive episodic format that expanded the world-building of the Astraea continent.
