Psycho Nyanya

Psycho Nyanya is a short-form original net animation produced by Studio LICO. Released within the context of the digital-first animation landscape in South Korea, the series centers on a peculiar, whimsical, and occasionally erratic character. It was developed to capitalize on the rapid-consumption trends of short-form video platforms, utilizing a vibrant and slightly surreal aesthetic that prioritizes visual gags and expressive, fluid character movement over traditional long-form storytelling.

The character design reflects a contemporary shift toward 'web-native' animation, where high-contrast color palettes and exaggerated, stylized expressions are used to capture immediate attention on social media. Studio LICO, an arm of Naver Webtoon, crafted the series to bridge the gap between static webcomic artistry and dynamic motion graphics. Upon its release, it was noted primarily for its distinct visual identity and its role in expanding the studio's portfolio of short, experimental animation formats.
