Where it came from
Queen's Blade: Beautiful Warriors is a series of six original video animation episodes produced by Studio ARMS and released in 2010. The project served as a direct follow-up to the two-season Queen's Blade television anime series, which was based on a popular visual combat gamebook franchise. The series was designed to shift the focus toward shorter, standalone narrative arcs while maintaining the franchise's established aesthetic of high-fantasy character designs and dynamic action sequences.
The character designs for the series were handled by a team of artists tasked with maintaining visual continuity with the previous entries, emphasizing the elaborate, fantasy-themed armor and expressive character work that defined the property. Critics and viewers generally received the series as a continuation of the fan-oriented spectacle of the original gamebook adaptations, focusing on the character-driven lore that had been established throughout the franchise's multi-media expansion.
