Reconguista in G the Movie I Go! Core Fighter

The Core Fighter serves as a pivotal mechanical design within the Gundam Reconguista in G film series, which premiered in 2019. These five theatrical features were produced by Sunrise to compile and re-edit the 2014 television series directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino. The project was intended to provide a refined narrative experience, allowing Tomino to revisit the complex world-building and philosophical themes of the Regild Century era with modern production adjustments and expanded scenes.

The mechanical design reflects the distinct, organic aesthetic championed by Akira Yasuda, known professionally as Akiman. Unlike the more angular designs typical of the franchise, the Core Fighter features fluid, aerodynamic lines consistent with the series' emphasis on advanced, nature-inspired technology. The design was praised by long-term fans for its departure from traditional tropes, though it remains a hallmark of the series' dense and often challenging visual storytelling.
