Renzhe Bixu Si: Yue Hu Zhi Zhan

Renzhe Bixu Si: Yue Hu Zhi Zhan, or 'Ninja Must Die: Battle of Moon Lake', was produced by HuaMei Animation as an ONA (Original Net Animation) tied to the popular mobile gaming franchise Ninja Must Die. Released in the early 2020s, the production was designed to expand the narrative depth of the game's stylized, ink-wash aesthetic. By blending traditional Chinese artistic sensibilities with modern fast-paced animation techniques, the studio aimed to bridge the gap between interactive gameplay and linear storytelling, focusing on the character Kuro and the intense combat mechanics that define the franchise's identity.

The visual direction of the project reflects the studio's attempt to elevate the game's recognizable silhouette-heavy art style into a fluid motion format. The reception was largely concentrated within the established community of the mobile game, where fans appreciated the high-fidelity action sequences that remained faithful to the game's signature 'water-ink' atmosphere. While it functions as promotional media, the work is noted for its technical consistency in maintaining the atmospheric world-building that HuaMei Animation established for the property.
