Ruguo Lishi Shi Yi Qun Miao 2

Ruguo Lishi Shi Yi Qun Miao, or If History Were a Group of Cats, is an original net animation series produced by Fatchi Moxie Studio. Launched in the mid-2010s, the series serves as a whimsical, anthropomorphic take on Chinese history, reimagining pivotal historical figures and dynasties as various breeds of cats. The creative intent was to foster interest in historical events among younger audiences by blending educational storytelling with a lighthearted, comedic aesthetic.

The character design and visual style were spearheaded by the creator known as Er-Mei-Zi, who utilized a distinct, minimalist art style to distinguish the series from conventional historical dramas. The show gained significant traction on Chinese digital platforms for its brevity and ability to distill complex dynastic shifts into accessible, humorous sketches. It has been noted by cultural critics for its unconventional approach to pedagogical media, successfully balancing historical accuracy in narrative beats with a highly stylized, feline-centric visual identity.
