Shougakusei no Yuukai Boushi: Yumi-chan Abunai yo!

Released in 1991, Shougakusei no Yuukai Boushi: Yumi-chan Abunai yo! is an educational OVA produced by Studio Pierrot. The film was commissioned as a social guidance tool to teach primary school students about stranger danger and personal safety. Its development reflects the late 1980s and early 1990s Japanese trend of utilizing animation as a medium for public service announcements and moral instruction, translating complex safety protocols into a digestible narrative for children.

The visual direction and character designs carry the distinct aesthetic hallmarks of Studio Pierrot’s late-Showa and early-Heisei era works. By employing a recognizable animation style, the production aimed to build an immediate sense of trust and familiarity with its young audience. While the title remains an obscure entry in the studio's extensive catalog, it is historically significant as an example of the industry's role in addressing contemporary social concerns through commissioned educational media.
