Where it came from
Soushisouai Note THE ANIMATION was produced by Pink Pineapple and released as an original video animation in 2013. The project is an adaptation of the erotic manga series by artist Akai Sachie, which focuses on intense, often dark, interpersonal relationships. The animation was part of Pink Pineapple’s long-standing strategy of adapting adult-oriented manga for the home video market during a period when the studio was a dominant force in the OVA industry.
The animation focuses on maintaining the distinctive visual style of Akai Sachie’s original character designs, emphasizing stylized, emotive portrayals of the source material's mature themes. Like many adult OVAs of its time, the release was designed specifically for the niche collector market in Japan, prioritizing fidelity to the original manga's aesthetic while utilizing the medium of animation to expand upon the intimate narrative sequences established in the printed work.
