Where it came from
Strike the Blood FINAL serves as the concluding installment in the long-running anime adaptation of Gakuto Mikumo's light novel series. Released in 2022, this four-episode original video animation (OVA) series was produced by studio CONNECT to bring the story of Kojo Akatsuki and Yukina Himeragi to a definitive close. It was created to wrap up the narrative arcs that had been established over the course of multiple seasons and OVA series since the franchise debuted in 2013.
The production design reflects the aesthetic established by CONNECT throughout the series, prioritizing high-energy character action and the distinct supernatural atmosphere of Itogami Island. As a final project, the staff aimed to provide a sense of resolution for the core cast, adhering to the established visual style that fans had come to associate with the franchise. The release was received as a milestone for the series' dedicated fanbase, offering a final chapter that honored the source material's conclusion.
