Taisetsu na Kazoku wo Tsutsumu, Sono Te.

Taisetsu na Kazoku wo Tsutsumu, Sono Te is a short original net animation produced by the Japanese labor union Rengo. Released in 2012, the project was designed as a public service campaign to promote better work-life balance and the importance of parental involvement in child-rearing. It reflects a specific period in Japanese corporate culture where the government and unions began pushing for reforms to mitigate the effects of extreme working hours on family stability.

The animation features character designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, renowned for his work on Neon Genesis Evangelion. Sadamoto brought his signature clean, emotive aesthetic to the project, aiming to create a soft, empathetic visual language that would resonate with working parents. The production was received as a gentle, earnest piece of advocacy media, utilizing the popularity of high-profile anime talent to draw attention to the serious social issue of fathers struggling to balance their professional duties with their home lives.
