Where it came from
Released in the wake of the 2007 anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the Kirameki Yoko BOX serves as a premium character-focused tribute to the series' lead heroine, Yoko Littner. Produced by Gainax, the collection reflects the studio's penchant for celebrating their iconic female protagonists through elaborate merchandise sets that emphasize both the character's aesthetic appeal and the high-energy, vibrant tone of the source material.
The design of the box centers on the signature visual style established by character designer Atsushi Nishigori. The pieces included in this set prioritize a playful, 'sweet' motif that contrasts with the intense, apocalyptic setting of the anime, aiming to offer fans a more intimate and lighthearted perspective of Yoko. Upon its release, it was received as a definitive collector's item for enthusiasts of the Gainax library, prized for its specific thematic departure from the typical action-oriented figures of the period.
