Echizen and the Seigaku regulars took a day off of their normal routines and went hiking on a mountain, where a tennis resort awaits their arrival. Expecting to do some special training, the team reaches the destination only to find their precious tennis courts taken over by a group of college tennis players. However, Ryoma is more than happy to teach them a thing or two about how to play "real" tennis.

Where it came from
Released in 2003, this original video animation served as a comedic side story to the widely popular The Prince of Tennis anime franchise. Produced by Production I.G, the OVA was created to satisfy fan interest in the series' characters outside of the high-stakes tournament matches, leaning into a self-aware, slapstick tone that contrasts with the intense athletic drama of the television series.
The animation reflects the aesthetic established by the studio for the main series, maintaining the distinct, sharp character designs popularized by the original manga author, Takeshi Konomi. By focusing on a chaotic, survival-themed training camp, the production aimed to highlight the personalities and interpersonal dynamics of the Seishun Academy tennis team, ultimately receiving a warm reception from the dedicated fanbase that appreciated the lighthearted deviation from the standard competitive narrative.
