Where it came from
The Garden of sinners: recalled out summer –extra chorus– was released in 2013 as part of the broader cinematic project centered on Kinoko Nasu’s light novel series. Produced by ufotable, this short film serves as an epilogue and supplementary narrative to the main seven-part film series, aiming to provide further closure for the characters of Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou while maintaining the studio's signature atmospheric and polished visual identity.
The film’s aesthetic continues the collaborative vision established by the studio and the Type-Moon creative team, emphasizing deep shadows and contemplative pacing. Upon its release, it was received primarily by the series' dedicated fanbase, appreciated for its ability to weave together lingering narrative threads and reinforce the supernatural, urban-noir atmosphere that defined the studio's adaptation of the Ryougi saga.
