The Man From Dao Xiang Cun

The Man From Dao Xiang Cun is an original net animation released as part of a promotional campaign for the historic Beijing-based pastry brand, Daoxiangcun. The project was conceived to modernize the brand's image and connect with younger demographics by weaving the cultural heritage of traditional Chinese confections into a narrative format. By centering the story on the brand's legacy and the craftsmanship behind its iconic mooncakes and pastries, the short film functions as both an entertainment piece and a sophisticated piece of corporate branding.

The animation features a distinct aesthetic that blends elements of contemporary Chinese commercial art with traditional motifs associated with the brand. It was designed to emphasize the sensory experience of the pastries, utilizing high-quality production values to evoke nostalgia and craftsmanship. While it received attention primarily within the context of digital marketing and brand storytelling, it is appreciated by collectors of corporate animation and those interested in the evolution of heritage brands in the digital age.
