The Maid I Hired Recently is Mysterious

The Maid I Hired Recently is Mysterious originated as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Wakame Konbu, which began serialization in 2020. The story centers on the developing bond between a young boy, Yuuri, and a beautiful, enigmatic maid named Lilith who enters his service under suspicious circumstances. The work is defined by its blend of lighthearted slice-of-life comedy and a persistent, underlying sense of supernatural intrigue.

The 2022 television anime adaptation was produced by studios Silver Link and Blade, directed by Mirai Minato and Misuzu Hoshino. The production sought to capture the series' distinctive balance of whimsical character designs and the subtly eerie atmosphere inherent to Konbu's original artwork. Upon its release, the series was received as a charming addition to the 'mysterious domestic helper' subgenre, noted primarily for its stylistic visual direction and the specific comedic chemistry between its two leads.
