Where it came from
The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio is a 2024 television anime adaptation produced by studio CONNECT, based on the light novel series written by Koichi Nigatsu and illustrated by Saba Mizore. The story centers on two high school voice actors who, despite being rivals at school and having polar opposite personalities, find themselves co-hosting a radio show together. The series explores the intricate dynamics of the professional voice acting industry in Japan, highlighting the contrast between the performers' public personas and their private lives.
The production by studio CONNECT aims to balance the charm of the character-driven narrative with the specific technicalities of radio broadcasting and voice performance. The design and visual direction focus on creating an authentic atmosphere for the recording booth settings, while capturing the evolving chemistry between the two leads. Upon its release, the series was noted for its meta-commentary on the anime industry and the nuanced portrayal of the friendship that develops between the protagonists through the medium of their shared program.
