Thunderbolt Fantasy Sword Seekers -The Finale-

Thunderbolt Fantasy Sword Seekers -The Finale- serves as the concluding cinematic chapter of the collaborative wuxia puppetry series between Pili International Multimedia and Nitroplus. Developed to resolve the overarching narrative threads established in the original 2016 series, this production utilizes the signature Pili-style glove puppetry, characterized by intricate costume design, dramatic stage lighting, and fluid, high-octane action choreography that merges traditional art forms with modern cinematic techniques.

The creative vision was spearheaded by Gen Urobuchi, who sought to blend Japanese anime narrative tropes with the distinct Taiwanese tradition of Budai puppetry. The project was designed to push the technical boundaries of puppet manipulation, featuring elaborate stage setups and computer-generated visual effects that enhance the performance of the life-sized puppets. Upon its release, the project was recognized for its continued efforts to bridge Eastern and Western storytelling sensibilities while maintaining the artistic legacy of the Pili puppet masters.
