TSUKIUTA. The Animation Season 2

Tsukiuta. The Animation Season 2 emerged as a long-awaited follow-up to the 2016 original, which was adapted from a popular Japanese multimedia franchise revolving around personified months of the year. Developed by Children's Playground Entertainment, this second installment sought to refine the production quality while maintaining the character-driven narrative that endeared the series to its dedicated fan base. The production faced significant delays due to industry shifts and scheduling challenges, finally premiering in 2020 as a bridge between the group's established music roots and their animated presence.

The series design focuses on the two fictional idol units, Six Gravity and Procellarum, maintaining the aesthetic hallmarks established by the original character designer, Jiku. The creative direction aimed to balance episodic performance sequences with slice-of-life interactions between the members, emphasizing the interpersonal dynamics that defined the franchise's music videos and drama CDs. While the transition to a new studio marked a stylistic departure from the first season, the series was received by enthusiasts as a sincere continuation of the project's multi-year effort to bring the 'Tsukiuta' idols to a broader television audience.
