Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade: TWIN BLOOD

Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade: Twin Blood is an original video animation released in the mid-1990s as a direct-to-video follow-up to the 1992 anime series Tekkaman Blade. Produced by Tatsunoko Production, the project was intended to capitalize on the cult success of the television series, which had earned a dedicated following for its dark, psychologically heavy take on the classic hero archetype. This installment was part of a larger effort to expand the franchise lore and provide a definitive conclusion for fans of the original broadcast run.

The production sought to maintain the high-octane aesthetic defined by the original character designer, Hiroshi Sasaki, whose work on the series is celebrated for its sleek, biomechanical approach to the Tekkaman armor. Twin Blood features a compilation and recap structure, blending new animated segments with footage from the show to recontextualize the tragic rivalry between the protagonist D-Boy and his brother. It was generally received as a specialized item for long-term enthusiasts, serving as a stylistic bridge between the television finale and other side stories.
