Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade OVA: Burning Clock

Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade: Burning Clock was released in 1999 as an original video animation that serves as a concluding epilogue to the cult classic science fiction anime series Tekkaman Blade. Developed in the wake of the franchise's successful revival in the early nineties, this installment was intended to provide closure to the narrative arcs established in the original 1992 series, which centered on the existential struggle of D-Boy against the Radam alien invasion.

The production sought to maintain the dark, dramatic tone that distinguished the series from typical superhero anime of the era. The visual design retains the characteristic mecha aesthetic established by Tatsunoko Production, emphasizing the tragic, high-stakes nature of the protagonist’s combat suit. While the series as a whole is remembered for its emotional complexity and its influence on the genre, Burning Clock was received as a niche addition specifically for the dedicated fan base looking to see the resolution of lingering plot threads.
