Decades ago, a being known as the Giant of Light joined Shin Hayata of the Scientific Special Search Party to save Earth from an invasion of terrifying monsters known as Kaiju. Now, many years later, those dark days are fading into memory, and the world is at peace. But in the shadows a new threat is growing, a danger that can only be faced by a new kind of hero - a new kind of Ultraman...
Shinjirou is an ordinary teenager, but his father is the legendary Shin Hayata. When he learns that his father passed on the "Ultraman Factor" to him, and that he possesses incredible powers, nothing will ever be the same again.

Where it came from
The 2019 Ultraman ONA series, produced by Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts, serves as a direct sequel to the original 1966 live-action television show. Set decades after the original Ultraman departed Earth, the narrative follows Shinjiro Hayata, the son of the original host, as he assumes the mantle of a new, armored iteration of the hero. The project was conceived as a high-fidelity 3D CGI adaptation of the popular manga series written by Eiichi Shimizu and illustrated by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, aiming to bring the iconic tokusatsu aesthetic into a contemporary animated medium.
Directors Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki led the production, prioritizing a character-driven approach that balanced the nostalgia of the classic franchise with modern science-fiction sensibilities. The design of the new Ultraman suit, notably leaner and more mechanical than the traditional rubber-suit appearance, sparked significant discussion among the fanbase. While some viewers were initially skeptical of the transition from traditional 2D cel animation to the stylized 3D motion-capture technique, the series was generally recognized for its technical ambition and successful modernization of a long-standing cultural icon.
