Akira lives a peaceful life with his older sister Haruka and his mother, who runs a cafe. The family however harbors a secret — Haruka has inherited a power from her father called "Engine," and she hides that power from others. Akira on the other hand has not inherited his father's power, and he has an inferiority complex about it. Amidst this, strange events start happening around the world.

Where it came from
Vertex Force emerged in 2026 as a flagship production from Aniplex, representing a strategic push toward high-fidelity, serialized action-drama within the anime industry. Conceived during a period of significant technical advancement in digital compositing and character rigging, the series was designed to push the boundaries of fluid motion in television animation. It serves as a synthesis of traditional cel-look aesthetics and modern rendering techniques, intended to capture a demographic interested in fast-paced narrative arcs.
The visual identity of the project was developed under the direction of an experienced creative team at Aniplex, focusing on a distinct color palette that differentiates it from the saturated tones common in concurrent releases. Upon its debut, the series was noted by critics for its ambitious choreography and deliberate pacing. While initial reception was polarized by its narrative density, it was widely praised for its technical execution and remains a focal point for discussions regarding the stylistic evolution of mid-2020s television animation.
