Where it came from
Waresho! Warera! Shoudoubutsu Aigo Iinkai, or We Are! The Small Animal Protection Committee, debuted in 2019 as a short-form television series produced by Stella Promotion. The project emerged from a landscape of niche Japanese animation aimed at younger audiences, focusing on educational and lighthearted themes centered around the welfare and care of small, domestic pets.
The production utilized a simplified, stylized aesthetic characteristic of studio shorts from the late 2010s, intended to make the content accessible and engaging for children. As a modest entry within the studio's portfolio, the series was designed to emphasize empathy and responsible pet ownership, functioning primarily as a public service-oriented narrative rather than a high-concept commercial venture.
