Where it came from
The We Never Learn OVAs were released in 2019 by Studio Silver, serving as a companion to the television anime adaptation of Taishi Tsutsui’s manga series. These original video animations were produced to explore narrative threads and character moments that provided additional depth to the central storyline, which follows a tutor helping three academic geniuses navigate their personal and educational ambitions.
The animation reflects the lighthearted and aesthetic sensibilities of the original source material, emphasizing the character dynamics that defined the series' appeal. As a creative expansion of the franchise, the OVAs were received by the community as a supplemental enrichment of the core narrative, intended for established fans who sought more intimate portrayals of the protagonists beyond the main episodic run.
