White Snake: Afloat

White Snake: Afloat, released in 2024, is the third installment in Light Chaser Animation’s White Snake trilogy, a series that reimagines the classic Chinese folktale of the White Snake. This entry serves as a direct sequel to the 2019 original, continuing the story of Blanca and her immortal love, Xuan, as they navigate reincarnation and the complexities of human life. The production draws heavily on traditional Chinese aesthetics, blending them with modern 3D rendering techniques to create a distinct visual identity that has become a hallmark of the studio's portfolio.

Directed by Li Jiafan and produced by Light Chaser Animation, the film was designed to bridge the gap between ancient folklore and contemporary animation sensibilities. The creators aimed to elevate the narrative scope of the franchise, focusing on themes of sacrifice and identity. Upon its release, the film was noted for its technical achievement in water-simulation effects and its ambitious world-building, which solidified Light Chaser Animation's position as a major player in the international animation market.
