World Trigger REBOOT Project (Provisional Title)

The World Trigger REBOOT Project was announced by Toei Animation as a strategic initiative to revitalize the multimedia franchise, which centers on the popular manga series by Daisuke Ashihara. Following the successful adaptation of the manga into a long-running anime series that began in 2014, the project was conceived to reinvigorate interest in the series’ tactical, sci-fi world-building, where Earth-based defense forces known as Border protect humanity from interdimensional entities called Neighbors.

The design and narrative vision of this project lean into the high-stakes, team-based strategy that has become the hallmark of the series. By focusing on the unique 'Trigger' technology system, Toei Animation aims to leverage modern animation techniques to better capture the intricate combat sequences found in the original source material. The project serves as both a celebration of the franchise's enduring loyal fanbase and a deliberate effort to reach new audiences through updated visual storytelling.
