WWW.Wagnaria!! was produced by A-1 Pictures in 2016 as a spin-off television series based on the web manga originally created by Karino Takatsu. While the original Wagnaria series focused on the staff of a family restaurant in Hokkaido, this iteration adapts the webcomic version which follows a different cast of characters working at a separate branch of the same restaurant chain. The production sought to maintain the high-energy, character-driven comedy style that defined the studio's work on the franchise, utilizing the same staff-centric premise to explore new comedic dynamics.

The character designs and animation direction leaned into the expressive, exaggerated aesthetics common in contemporary workplace comedies of the mid-2010s. Upon release, the series was noted for its distinctive focus on the quirkiness of its ensemble cast, serving as an expansion of the creator's universe. It was received as a lighthearted companion piece to the primary series, appreciated by fans of the franchise for its adherence to the established tone while successfully introducing a fresh set of personality-driven interactions.
