Xi Yangyang Yu Hui Tailang: Gu Guguai Jie You Guguai

Xi Yangyang Yu Hui Tailang, known internationally as Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, debuted in 2005 as a flagship production from Creative Power Entertaining. The series was developed to fill a gap in the Chinese domestic animation market, aiming to provide culturally resonant, lighthearted children's entertainment that could compete with the dominance of imported Japanese and American cartoons. The segment titled Gu Guguai Jie You Guguai is a part of the long-running narrative arc exploring the ongoing conflict between the sheep of Green Green Grassland and the wolves from the neighboring territory.

The character designs were intentionally kept simple and distinct to appeal to a young demographic, utilizing archetypal personalities like the clever Pleasant Goat and the persistent, frequently thwarted Big Big Wolf. While the show faced initial criticism for its slapstick violence, it was widely praised for its high production values and its ability to weave traditional values of friendship and resilience into its episodic format. It eventually became a cultural phenomenon in China, successfully transitioning from a localized television series to a massive multimedia franchise that redefined domestic animation standards.
