Xing Mao Lixian Ji: Shufa Pian

Xing Mao Lixian Ji: Shufa Pian, or The Adventures of Xing Mao: Calligraphy Chapter, emerged during a period of increased investment in educational animation within China. Produced to bridge the gap between traditional cultural pedagogy and digital storytelling, the series was designed to introduce younger audiences to the stylistic nuances and history of Chinese calligraphy through an approachable, narrative-driven framework.

The character design and visual direction were crafted to integrate artistic motifs directly into the animation, requiring a distinct blend of cel-style animation and motion-graphic representations of brushwork. The series received modest attention for its role as a supplementary educational tool, praised by educators for its structured approach to explaining complex artistic techniques to children, though it remained a niche production within the broader landscape of local animated programming.
