Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon - The Second Act

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon - The Second Act serves as the direct sequel to the 2020 series, continuing the story of Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha, the daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Produced by Sunrise, the series maintains the aesthetic and thematic lineage of the original Inuyasha franchise, bridging the gap between the conclusion of the feudal era adventures and the modern day. The production team aimed to explore the legacies of established characters while introducing a new generation facing a unique set of supernatural threats.

The second act was specifically commissioned to resolve the lingering plot threads and emotional arcs established in the initial run. Under the supervision of the original series creator Rumiko Takahashi, who provided character designs, the series sought to balance nostalgia with new narrative stakes. Upon its release, it was met with focused attention from the established fan base, who were keen to see the culmination of the series' central mysteries regarding the fate of the original cast and the development of the three protagonists.
