Where it came from
Your Letter is a South Korean animated short film produced by LICO, the animation studio under Naver Webtoon. Released in 2024, the film is an adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name by author Hye-ran Cho. The narrative centers on a young girl named Sori, who discovers a series of mysterious, magical letters tucked away in her school, which guide her through her experience as a new transfer student.
The film was crafted to preserve the emotional intimacy of the original webtoon, emphasizing a soft, watercolor-inspired aesthetic that reflects the themes of friendship and personal growth. Upon its release, it was noted for its delicate storytelling and its faithful translation of the source material's gentle, melancholic, yet ultimately uplifting tone, marking a significant entry for LICO in the realm of feature-length digital animation.
