Zoojazoo “My Stomach”

Zoojazoo’s 'My Stomach' is a track from the 1970s children’s educational music project often associated with the creative efforts of songwriters and producers aimed at teaching biology through song. Produced during an era when musical storytelling became a staple of classroom engagement, the project sought to simplify complex physiological processes into rhythmic, memorable melodies that would resonate with young students.

The design of the lyrics and composition reflects the mid-century pedagogical focus on personification, a technique used to demystify bodily functions by giving them a friendly, relatable voice. While the specific artists behind the Zoojazoo series operated with a degree of anonymity common to educational audio-visual ventures of the time, the work was received as a functional tool for music-based learning, eventually finding a cult following among listeners who grew up during the advent of educational public media.
