Black-headed Mountain Greenbul

The Black-headed Mountain Greenbul was formally described in the late 19th century by the naturalist George Ernest Shelley. It is native to the montane forests of East Africa, specifically inhabiting the highlands of Tanzania and Kenya. Its classification within the genus Arizelocichla reflects its evolutionary adaptation to high-altitude evergreen environments, where its distinct plumage and song serve as key identifiers among the diverse avian populations of the Albertine Rift and Eastern Afromontane biodiversity hotspots.
