Great Crested Flycatcher

The Great Crested Flycatcher, scientifically classified as Myiarchus crinitus, is a native passerine of eastern North American woodlands. Evolutionarily adapted for a life spent primarily in the forest canopy, this species is distinguished by its broad wings and characteristically notched tail, which facilitate the agile, darting flight patterns necessary for capturing insects mid-air.
