Ocellated Piculet

The Ocellated Piculet, scientifically categorized as Picumnus dorbignyanus, is a small member of the woodpecker family native to the humid forests of South America. Its nomenclature honors the French naturalist Alcide d'Orbigny, who documented diverse biological specimens across the continent during the 19th century.
